Forklift Service Technician

This position comes with a company vehicle, gas card, and phone and will service the greater Jeffersonville, IN or Clarksville, IN area.
The schedule is Monday- Friday 7a-4p with some overtime as needed.
Position Overview
Reporting to the branch Service Manager, the Lift Truck Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting lift truck service call issues and performing repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment based upon customer demands as directed by the service dispatcher or manager.
This position must also promote service maintenance programs and the company in general, and provide high quality service to ensure an optimal customer experience.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :
- Diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction
- Perform scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively, in line with company procedures.
- Maintain records of all service work and repairs performed in line with company procedure. Turn in paperwork in a timely fashion, ensuring accuracy and legibility
- Work with service dispatcher and manager to maximize labor revenue and efficiency within the work schedule while accounting for 100% of work time
- Be flexible with your work schedule to take care of Raymond Storage Concepts, Inc. customer’s needs and also to be able to receive ongoing on-the-job training and coaching
- Maintain company supplied service van and uniforms in a clean and organized fashion as well as maintaining an accurate inventory of tools and parts
- Maintain a current and clean driving record. Drive safely and efficiently from point to point in service area
- Operate a lift truck for testing and demonstrations, in line with correct operation instructions
- Communicate and work with the Parts and Sales departments to insure the customer’s needs are being met, and immediately report any potential customer issues that need to be addressed
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Communicate in a professional manner while showing respect to our customers and other company personnel
- Demonstrate good judgment and personal attitude, which are essential to maintaining our company’s reputation for results orientated service, good will and professionalism
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one to three years’ relevant experience and / or training preferred
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and general equipment operation theory
- Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic diagrams and schematics
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Must maintain a clean driving record
