Summary
Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions. Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
Trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates hazardous waste management : accumulation and disposal, including electronic manifest RCRA reporting.
Assists in the planning and implementation of company safety programs and new protocols.
Conduct job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Regular training of on-site team regarding EH&S topics, including new hire orientation, and manage the training matrix.
Monitoring compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
Participates in Cal / Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, including preparing reports and providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
Assists in periodic on-site facility audits and inspections to comply with all state and federal regulations.
Responsible for Corporate and regulatory reporting. Develop and lead the company Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Lead the Safety and Lead Safety Committees.
Coordinates the purchase and inventory of personal protective equipment and production support materials.
Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 2-5 years of directly related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with CERS, Smarts Stormwater reporting, AQMD Regulation 1420.2 and (TRI) Form R reporting is a plus.
An individual should have knowledge of MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word software.
Other Essential Duties
Follows all import / export requirements, consulting with facility import / export personnel as required.
Other Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
Basic Knowledge of ISO and / or AS9100
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / 6 Sigma / Kaizen
Knowledge of specific software (HRIS)
Other Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.

Salary Range :
$59,400.00-$79,310.000
