We are seeking an Assistant Shipping Coordinator to Immediately join our team in Commerce, CA
Overview :
As part of our shipping department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient, timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers.
You will work closely with our sales, accounts and imports teams, our warehouse, and our transportation partners to coordinate shipments, track inventory, and optimize logistics operations.
Responsibilities :
Assist in coordinating shipments from order placement to delivery.
Prepare shipping documents and verify order shipment information of product count, weights and measures of items against bills of lading, sales orders, invoices and other applicable records
Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Collaborate with other departments to meet customer delivery requirements.
Track shipments and update internal systems with status information.
Effectively track and communicate updates between Customer Service, Logistics, and Sale Accounts teams.
Resolve any issues or delays in the shipping process.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
Assist in the maintenance of systems and procedures for efficient inventory management and accounting operations.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities.
Answer and route all telephone calls in a professional manner, taking messages and routing to proper individual in a timely manner
Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Sheets
Knowledge of shipping software and systems is a plus
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Positive and professional demeanor
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred but not required
