Job Title : Maintenance Supervisor (Building and Grounds Supervisor II)

If so, this might be the perfect job for you. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is looking for a talented, energetic, and hard-working individual to fill the role of Maintenance Supervisor in our Ogden office.
This position maintains buildings, fences, roads, signs, water developments, and other infrastructure and land owned by DWR.
The position also restores wildlife habitat and supervises seasonal staff.
Principle Duties :
As the Building and Grounds Supervisor, you will :
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of DWR facilities.
- Oversee the maintenance of wildlife management areas. This includes herbicide application, fence and road construction and maintenance, water trough and guzzler construction and maintenance, and sign installation.
- Transport and operate construction equipment and OHVs.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Consult on job orders, including the development of project plans and related estimates.
- Build, fabricate, or repair structures, equipment, and / or miscellaneous items.
- Weld, solder, braze, grind, and / or fabricate various materials.
- Perform painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation.
- Recruit, train, and supervise employees.
- Draft reports for completed projects.

Retirement- Utah Retirement Systems (URS) :

- Employees hired on or after 7 / 1 / 2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.

Minimum Qualifications
Certifications / Licenses :
Required at the time of hire or must be obtained during the probationary period or designated timeframe : Class A commercial driver's licenseNon-commercial pesticide applicator license
Knowledge, skills, and abilities :
- four or more years of experience in wildlife management-related work
- general plant identification skills
- familiar with mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and fence work
- basic computer skills; familiar with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- understand and apply principles and practices of facility operation, maintenance, and management
- experience loading, binding, and transporting large loads and heavy equipment on trailers
Supplemental Information
Working Conditions :
Successful applicants will typically work independently or in small teams in remote locations. The job requires physical exertion, including the ability to stand, walk over rough terrain, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.
repeatedly for extended periods. Workers will face risks that require specific safety precautions and equipment, particularly during pesticide application.
Responsibilities include :
- Working outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
- Operating various vehicles and equipment, including : TrucksATVs
- Using a range of construction equipment, groundskeeping tools, and hand tools
- Some hiking
Travel may be necessary :
including overnight stays at job sites in remote areas, typically no more than five times a year. Employees will be subject to random drug testing and must possess a valid driver's license.
