Position : Food and Beverage Manager

Facilities : At Somerby Golf Club, our traditions of excellent service, a caring and friendly staff, and outstanding amenities combine to create relationships that last a lifetime.

The 18-hole championship course is accompanied by a 35,000-square-foot clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, two restaurants, fitness facility, Kids Klub and more.

Position Summary : The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is a highly visible position responsible for ensuring quality and efficiency in a $1.

9 Million F&B operation. They will be primarily responsible for assisting in all food & beverage service operations within the restaurants and on the course, including the oversight and management of all servers, server assistants, interns, bartenders, beverage cart attendants, and snack shack attendants.

This person will be an energetic and creative team-oriented leader, functioning as an integral part of the management team.

This position requires close collaboration with members, management, and club employees. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will also focus on building positive internal and external relationships.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the management team to ensure adherence to the club’s service standards, Mission and Vision Statements, and strategic goals.

They will be responsible for consistently maintaining high levels of satisfaction in all dining areas and on-course hospitality.

Responsibilities :

  • Be a highly visible leader who interacts professionally with members and staff by answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services and ensuring club standards are met
  • Be responsible for assisting in the hiring and training with a focus on excellent service levels for front of the house staff and on-course refreshment cart staff
  • Co-Manage point of sale system
  • Oversee beverage operations including the development of quality menus reflecting current trends in the industry
  • Be a positive hands-on leader and a team builder who is always accessible
  • Be extremely organized and highly motivated
  • Monitor industry best practices and current restaurant trends bringing applicable concepts to the club on a regular basis
  • Work directly with Chef and Clubhouse Manager in the development of new and creative themes, events, and culinary offerings
  • Scheduling
  • Ensure outside staff is tended to and adequately prepared for shifts.
  • Introduce new events to enhance member value and participation
  • Exhibit a continuous desire for self-improvement and an aspiration for progression into future management roles
  • Lead in a positive manner

Qualifications :

  • Background of excellence in food & beverage management with a minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in a food and beverage supervisor role
  • Demonstrate progressive work experience and passion for the restaurant and club business
  • Excellent knowledge of wine, beer and spirits
  • Ability to be personable with members, while maintaining a highly professional demeanor
  • Exhibit a positive attitude at all times and have a proven record of coaching and mentoring in a team environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Requirements :

  • A hospitality or related college degree is preferred
  • Impeccable and verifiable references
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • The ability to lift and / or move 20-50 lbs.
  • Working a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications

Benefits :

  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. $55,000 - $65,000 salary based on experience.
