The Welder will weld, cut, and assemble metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. Attention to detail and quality are essential components of this position.
Job Description :
Read and interpret basic weldment drawings and weld symbols
Gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided
Use torch, bandsaw, grinder, drill, and other hand tools to complete projects
Prepares, assembles, and tack welds parts and surfaces to be welded.
Welds inspectable level GMAW in all positions
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Initiate and maintain all applicable paperwork as required
Safely operates forklift and other material handling equipment per safety polices
Assemble some equipment components, sub-assemblies and / or accessories as required for the assigned stage of production
Perform preventive maintenance as required to maintain high level of work center performance
Support all regulations and requirements that are necessary for ISO-9001 and ISO-140001
Perform other duties as required
Serve as team member and resource for other departments
Actively participate in problem prevention and problem solving as part of Advanced Flow Solutions’ ongoing program of continuous improvement
Be available and receptive to all training for ongoing self-development
Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction to maximize personal output
Responsible for keeping immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety and quality
Report any unsafe conditions and / or practices to the appropriate manager and human resources for immediately correction
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED required
Non-Expired Welder Certification from Department of Labor with a minimum position : 2G and Processes : GMAW or SMAW
Pass On-Site 2G Weld Test GMAW
Must be able to safely perform single or repeated manual lifts of up to 50 lbs
Preferred Education and Experience
Two (2) five (5) years GMAW experience
Completion of formal welding school
Work Environment
Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy / loud in the plant area.
Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron, and face shield must be observed.
