Summary
Primary focus of this role is to continuously strive for improvements through developing / maintaining KPI monitoring tools, analyze and report cost trends, and seek improvement opportunities to deliver quality products to our customers on time at competitive transportation cost.
Responsibilities
- Transportation manager is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics process
- Below are activities, not limited to, a manager would perform on a daily basis
- Daily tender, OTD, Same day IOD management with constant communication with carriers to strive for excellence
- Perform bidding activities for transportation
- Taking on special ad-hoc projects to improve efficiency and service levels (ex : Scheduled deliveries, Execution of new transport modes, etc.)
- Negotiating with carriers on terms and conditions
- Follow-up on daily tender rejections and missed OTD by carrier obtain corrective action plan impacting KPI improvements
- Requires having extensive knowledge of the transportation industry and relationship with carriers
- Constant communication / negotiations with carriers to improve performance
- Must have knowledge of the ins and outs of carrier operations
- Creates and presents Ideas and thoughts to leadership team based on fact based management
- The level of passion to learn and overachieve is key for an analyst's role
- Continuously thrive for better way to monitor and manage health level of all aspects of operations

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with extensive knowledge within the transportation industry of 7+ years
- Analytic with strong quantitative skills
- Deep knowledge of transportation industry
- Excellent communication skills and an analytical mind with business acumen
- Must have truckload, LTL transportation management experience & transportation contract review for terms & conditions experience
- Tableau skillsets a plus
- MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word skills needed
- TMS, WMS, YMS experience a plus
