Position Overview
The Plant Manager in our RTE food manufacturing plant directs and manages all plant operations including production, warehouse, maintenance, and quality.
This leadership position is responsible for ensuring that company standards are achieved with an emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, and training for employees at the plant.
The Plant Manager will be required to be a hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead staff, and reach production goals while adhering to the highest safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- All aspects of plant management to assure cost effective, timely and efficient production and coordinate distribution of consistently high-quality products.
- Manages plant costs regarding facilities and employees with headquarter office.
- Work with a full operation management structure including maintenance, quality assurance, warehouse, sanitation, finance, and human resources.
- Leads staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring and developing steps of the process by setting processing instructions, observing control points and equipment, monitoring staff.
- Setting productions shifts accomplishing product manufacturing goals by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Compiles and analyzes production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in food packaging plant mandatory.
- 5+ years of experience managing in a USDA and / or FDA food, meat and packaging manufacturer facility.
- HACCP certification a plus.
- Food safety knowledge.
- True team player with a positive and cooperative attitude. No job too small mantra.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office
- Proven strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and work under constant deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Ability to operate in fast paced production environment.
- Able to lift to 50lbs and work in high and low temperatures.
