Responsibilities
Process credentialing and re-credentialing applications of health care providers.
- Review applications, prepare verification letters and maintain database.
- Contact medical office staff, licensing agencies, and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications.
- Complete administrative duties, such as ensuring state medical licenses are up-to-date and checking the status of new license applications.
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and legal requirements related to the Medical staff.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
Credentialing Specialist credentialed from the National Association Medical Staff Services preferred.
Education :
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note : Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
Hospital experience preferred - Clerical Experience Preferred
