Requirement Summary

Our Ocean Systems Group is seeking a signal processing engineer to be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on projects that span a wide range of research areas.

The engineer will lead undersea acoustics projects for military and commercial applications. Innovation and problem solving will be a major part of your position along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of researchers.

Responsibilities

  • Self-starter with the ability to recognize and creatively solve complex problems
  • Performing experiments in an independent & inventive manner
  • Serve both as an individual contributor and lead a project team
  • Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships
  • Identify and manage project schedules and risks
  • Support business development through proposal writing and the pursuit of strategic partnerships
  • Document project progress

Desired Qualifications

Experience with some of the following :

  • Processing underwater acoustic array data
  • Acoustic data compression techniques
  • Acoustic Blind Source Separation (BSS) techniques
  • Phased-array processing and array design and performance analysis
  • Adaptive multi-channel signal processing methods
  • Acoustic testing, data acquisition, and data analysis
  • Embedded DSP system design
  • Anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) applications of acoustic signal processing
  • Marine mammal monitoring and offshore wind applications of acoustic signal processing.

The ideal candidate will have broad interest in these areas and the desire to lead a team to develop and field a product in a chosen area.

Excellent presentation and writing skills are a plus to accomplish this goal.

Education / Experience

  • MS degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or closely related field. PhD degree is a plus (but not a requirement)
  • 5+ years of experience with listed qualifications.
