Project Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer / IT Documentation Specialist with over 5 years of experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IT application stacks and strong documentation skills, particularly in creating and maintaining system recovery procedures, operating procedures, and policies.
This role requires the ability to gather and analyze technical information, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and create detailed, high-quality technical documents.
Key Responsibilities :
- IT Application Stack Documentation : Familiarize yourself with the components of various IT applications, identifying key areas where they reside, and documenting them thoroughly.
- Technical Documentation : Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents such as system recovery procedures, operating procedures, and policies.
- Information Gathering : Collaborate with technical and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and analyze product functionality, business continuity needs, and technical requirements.
- Requirement Gathering : Facilitate the collection of business and IT requirements from various stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Create High-Quality Documentation : Develop clear, detailed, and structured technical documents with attention to detail, ensuring that they meet the organization’s needs for business continuity and technical understanding.
- Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including technical and business stakeholders, to ensure proper documentation alignment with organizational objectives.
- Documentation Tools : Utilize tools such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Visio to create and manage comprehensive documentation.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT documentation and technical writing.
- Familiarity with IT Application Stacks : Understanding of IT applications, including their components and where they are typically located within an organization.
- Technical Documentation : Proficient in preparing and maintaining technical documents, specifically system recovery procedures, operating procedures, and policies.
- Information Gathering and Analysis : Experience in gathering and analyzing technical and product information from multiple sources to document product functionality and business continuity needs.
- Requirement Gathering : Ability to gather business and IT requirements from diverse stakeholders, including technical and business SMEs.
- Documentation Tools : Proficient in tools like MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation purposes.
- Attention to Detail : Strong documentation skills with an emphasis on accuracy and detail.
- Excellent Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of ServiceNow’s APM Module : Familiarity with ServiceNow’s Application Portfolio Management (APM) module is a plus but not mandatory.
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field (preferred).
