Key Responsibilities :
- Design and Develop Data Models : Create and maintain logical and physical data models, including conceptual, relational, and dimensional models.
- Database Design : Develop and implement database structures and schemas that optimize performance, scalability, and security.
- Data Analysis : Analyze business requirements and translate them into data models and database designs that support reporting and analytical needs.
- Data Integration : Collaborate with data engineers and architects to integrate data from various sources into a unified data model.
- Documentation : Document data models, data flows, and design decisions to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure data models meet quality standards and adhere to best practices in data modeling and database design.
- Collaboration : Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and data scientists, to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data modeling and database technologies to continuously improve our data management processes.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience : Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) as a Data Modeler or in a similar role with a strong portfolio of data modeling projects.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ER / Studio, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, Microsoft Visio) and database management systems (e.
g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). A big plus if experienced with IDERA.
- Knowledge : In-depth understanding of database design principles, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player : Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
