Tax Lawyer

A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a talented Tax Lawyer with 2-6 years of experience at a law firm, specializing in public finance and / or nonprofit health care tax matters.

The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials and a proven ability to handle complex tax issues effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide expert legal counsel and strategic advice on a variety of tax issues, focusing on public finance and nonprofit health care sectors.
• Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support clients in tax planning, compliance, and transactional matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as tax opinions, agreements, and disclosures.
• Represent clients in tax audits, administrative proceedings, and litigation matters as required.
• Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to develop customized tax strategies and solutions.

Requirements :

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission by waiver.
• 2-6 years of relevant experience practicing tax law at a reputable law firm.
• Proven track record in handling public finance and / or nonprofit health care tax matters.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance issues.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax statutes and provide clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications :

• LLM in Taxation or related field.
• Experience advising nonprofit organizations or public entities on tax matters.
• Familiarity with tax-exempt financing transactions and regulatory requirements.
