Job Title : Diesel Mechanic (Veteran Preferred) Location : Tampa, FL Salary : Commensurate with experience Job Type : Full-time, immediate need Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced diesel mechanic to join our team in Tampa, FL.
We are particularly interested in hiring a veteran who has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities : Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel-powered vehicles, including trucks, buses, and heavy equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and brake systems Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, such as filters, belts, and hoses Test and adjust systems to ensure proper functioning and safety Maintain accurate records of all work performed and parts used Communicate with other team members, including drivers and supervisors, to coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of work Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment Requirements : High school diploma or equivalent Certification or degree in diesel mechanics preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Our company offers a great work environment and culture that values teamwork, safety, and customer service.
