CAD Drafter (Creo) (Power & Actuation Systems) Primary Responsibilities :
- Draft drawings and create models for Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) within PTC Creo.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure CCA models are useable for top-level model integration and analysis.
- Create component (.prt) models in support of CCA models / drawings.
- Validate provided IDF and IDX (.emn / .emp file extensions) for OrCAD transition errors.
- Update a part request system to manage creation, approval, and status of parts library
- Work closely with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designers to ensure accuracy across CCA drawings (populated assemblies) and PCB (bare board) fabrication and layout files (.
gbr and .brd extensions).
- Properly upload and retrieve files in accordance with configuration management procedures.
- Read, analyze and interpret Gerber data, schematics, diagrams, datasheets, CAD data and technical procedures.
- Communicate technical and schedule issues, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director and Program Manager, when applicable.
- Support design reviews, as required.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualification / Knowledge / Skills Required :
- 2+ years of experience in CAD design using PTC Creo, preferably related to electronics packaging in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience designing and drafting using ASME standard Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to understand component data sheets.
- Experience transferring printed circuit board designs / files between Cadence Allegro and PTC Creo is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and OrCAD Component Information Portal (CIP) and / or Component Information System (CIS) a plus.
- Flex and rigid-flex-rigid PCB design experience a plus.
- Requires excellent verbal / written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any outside agents, including but not limited to, vendors, suppliers, customers.
- Computer literate, with MS Office / PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be a US Citizen

Work Environment and Physical Requirements :
- Position entails exposure to typical manufacturing (i.e. Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing, etc.) environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
- Business office environment requiring use of telephone and personal computer.
- Work under pressure and overtime when required, in order to meet deadlines.
This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location. Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and / or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
