POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is an experience level position based at Taylor Shellfish in Shelton, Washington. The position will require work in the shop and field and is responsible for maintaining, and repairing various company vehicles, equipment, and machinery including company boats, trucks, tractors etc.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Perform diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance work on company vessels, machinery, vehicles, and equipment,
- Report any vehicles and / or equipment in need of repairs to the Maintenance Manager,
- Report any safety and company policy violations to the shop manager or safety manager,
- Compliance to safety and regulatory concerns,
- May be required to work at other work sites / locations as needed, including out of town or state,
- May be required to do other tasks as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must possess & maintain a valid Washington driver's license with clean driving record,
- Experience with diesel & gasoline engine repair,
- Experience with hydraulics and electric controls,
- Experience with marine / heavy equipment
- Must be able to read and understand; technical manuals, standard operating procedures, schematics, and measuring tapes,
- Availability to work : days, nights, weekends, on call, and travel as needed,
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance required,
- Ability to work independently, at time with little direction,
- Strong and sound decision-making skills,
- Excellent verbal / written skills,
- Well organized and detail oriented,
- Must maintain positive company morale.
- Ability to use computer well enough for the job,
- Daily work order updates (Mpulse).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, JOB & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years or older,
- 3 years minimum of applicable experience preferred,
- Formal training from an accredited technical college or trade school or completion on an equivalent multi-year apprenticeship program preferred,
- CDL Preferred, but not required,
- Must complete and maintain in-house forklift, tractor, first aid, safety, and H.R., trainings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit, stand and / or walk on uneven ground up to 16 hours per day,
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 100% percent of the time,
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. (Occasionally required to exert up to 125 lbs. of force),
- The vision requirements include : close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus,
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers,
- Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation,
- Must have agility and balance to safely climb on machines, boats, etc.,
- Must be able to drive up to 11 hours per day to multiple locations.
