Job Summary :
Assists in performing a variety of activities for behavioral health patients under supervision and in collaboration with other mental health care professionals.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes and initiates the daily schedule with assigning staff tasks on unit(s). Assists clinical staff and milieu staff in treatment program and milieu activities as delegated.
Ensures patient safety and compliance with established policies.
Acts as an advisor for strategic therapeutic interventions or acts as an advisor of the therapeutic intervention to reduce therapeutic holds on the unit.
Reports improved / problem behaviors of patients on unit.
Provides intervention for all high acuity issues, patient crises, or therapeutic holds that arise on the shift. Apprises the nurse of any changes in patient condition, of patient complaints and of patient / significant other educational needs.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education
EXPERIENCE
Two years' experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Constant use of hearing to receive oral communication and hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional keyboard use / data entry.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
