Job Summary :

Raytheon’s Field Engineering team is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Land-Based PHALANX Weapons System (LPWS) project.

The goal of the Land-Based PHALANX Weapons System (LPWS) Theater Support Program is to provide Field Service Representatives (FSRs) as Subject Matter Experienced professionals (SMEs) to support the LPWS requirements.

Responsibilities to Anticipate :

  • Evaluate, assess, and provide training to force protection personnel on all configurations of the LPWS.
  • Inspect, test, and align the designated systems appropriate specifications.
  • Utilize schematics, drawings, specifications, and General Purpose Electrical / Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) to troubleshoot and repair faults in the systems / equipment.
  • Provide up to date training in the operation, maintenance, alignment, and repair of the LPWS.
  • Provide support in obtaining LPWS OEM data (drawings, test data, etc.) through proper channels.
  • Develop and support the installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of all aspects of the LPWS equipment.
  • Develop and support the installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of communications and electro-optical equipment.
  • Evaluate and document field operational capability and report results to customer and program office.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and computer system administrative functions.
  • Perform analysis of system operations.
  • Must be willing and able to move and / or transport weights such as test equipment, ladders, instruments, and cable reels weighing up to 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques or material moving equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to traverse platforms.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.

S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in Combat Systems Support.
  • Hands-on experience in trouble shooting and maintenance of the Phalanx MK15 Close-In-Weapon-System.
  • Experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and peripheral devices.
  • Advanced military CIWS system training.
  • Direct experience with systems integration, software, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Prior field experience and / or military service.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and complete all activities required to meet established goals.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Military protocol.
  • Knowledge of, and be capable of using operating systems and database administration systems.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and / or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
