Refrigeration Tech 3

Primary Responsibility :

Under minimal supervision work independentlyperforming advanced refrigeration maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse.

Provide maintenancesupport as necessary to ensure operational objectives are met. Other areas ofknowledge including but not exclusive to : mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic PLC fabrication andwelding ammonia and plumbing.

Will direct and oversee the work of contractors onoccasion.

EssentialFunctions :

Defines and sets upideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigerationequipment (i.e. superheat regulators pressure settingsdefrost cycles etc.

Proactively monitor system performance and take appropriate actions to ensurethat the system is operating optimally.

Pumps out / evacuates refrigerant as necessary forcomponent level replacement and / or repair. Provides indepth troubleing of refrigeration electrical mechanical andcontrols systems to root cause andrecommends corrective action.

Performs calibrations (slide valve potentiometers RTDs pressuretransducers etc.) Replaces components within therefrigeration system with safe LOTO procedures and in accordance with PSM program.

Performs both routine and complex maintenance and repairson various types of warehouse equipment in accordancewith OSHA Standards.

Participatesin Maintenance / Refrigeration / Energy Excellence implementation andsustainment of clients OperatingSystem.

Shares knowledge and istsin the training and development of less experienced technicians Inspects and reviews in progress and completed work ofinternal and external technicians for compliance and quality control.

Conducts test of safety equipment toensure OHSA and operational standards.

Maintains accurate preventive and predictive maintenancerecords within the CMMS System.

Keeps work areaand tools 6Sd (well maintained clean organized etc.) and performshousekeeping duties as required.

Performs related work and other job ignments asrequired.

Qualifications &Experience :

High school diplomaor general education degree (GED) required.

5years Industrial Refrigeration maintenance experience which mustinclude ammonia refrigeration.

Completion ofRETA Operator 1 & 2 courses preferred. In lieu of RETA coursesuccessful completion of industry recognized IndustrialAmmonia Refrigeration training (Stellar Frick GCAP / Lanier oremployer comparable training program)equivalent in scope will be considered.

RETA CIRO certification preferred.

Required to successfully complete igned Industrial Refrigerationand MechanicalElectrical courses.

Troubleingand repairs with differing control systems ALTA / Allen Bradleyetc.

Required to be trained in HAZMAT obtainand maintain the certification.

ComputerizedMaintenance Management System experience preferred.

Basic computer ss required (email internet searches basicdata entry etc.).

Microsoft Office Suiteknowledge.

Knowledge Ss and Abilities :

Fully competent in mechanical knowledge (all level 3requirements).

Requires strong communicationand interpersonal ss.

Mathematical anddoentation ss necessary.

Ability to work withhands in mechanically oriented situations.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Must be able to work unsupervised.

Proficient use of testing equipment.

Must beable to work flexible shifts if required including oncall.

perception. Eithernaturally or with the aid of eye gles (use of contacts areprohibited when working withammonia).

Able to work nights andweekends.
