Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a RAN Network Performance Staff Engineer, you will be the 5G Wireless End-to-End Service Measurement KPI Expert in DISH Wireless to interpret network performance and map with customer experience and drive DISH 5G service performance and customer experience enhancement.

Key Responsibilities :

In this role, you will :

Identify RAN KPIs for monitoring end-user experience, service performance, network health, capacity, and operational efficiency;

develop real-time KPI dashboards and perform root cause analysis.

  • Provide end-to-end troubleshooting for 5G networks, focusing on cloud-based ORAN interfaces and E2E signaling protocols, using vendor-specific logs and probing systems.
  • Drive RAN performance and customer experience enhancement plans, collaborating with RF, RAN, and Core engineering teams to propose tuning actions and architectural changes.
  • Guide benchmarking efforts to compare DISH Wireless network performance against the opposing networks, developing recommendations to improve customer experience.
  • Utilize Big Data Analytics with Python, R, and Tableau to leverage AI / ML for operational modeling, anomaly detection, task automation, and zero-touch network performance management.
  • Act as the POC for KPI requirements for new technology, collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and functional teams.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

As a successful Staff RAN Performance Engineer, you will have :

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, with 8+ years in mobile networks and deep knowledge of 5G / 4G technologies.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Strong understanding of 5G ORAN standards, virtualization technologies, containerization, cloud-native principles, and SDN for cloud-based 5G Open RAN deployment.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based orchestration, edge computing, VNFs, CNFs, and open-source cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RAN network performance management, optimization, and E2E call flows for voice and data calls.
  • Expertise in data and VoIP network architecture, infrastructure, traffic engineering, and NMS / EMS / OSS / BSS operations.
  • Strong programming and data analytics skills, with awareness of latest telecom standards (TMF, ETSI, 3GPP) and transport network performance monitoring.

Salary Ranges Compensation : $110,100.00 / Year - $170,900.00 / Year Benefits
