The Internal Audit and Controls Co-op Program prepares college students for full-time employment in the business upon graduation through exposure to accounting and reporting functions within the organization.
Guided by a manager and mentor throughout the school year, students will work on value-add projects with tangible objectives which may include technical training, office environments, and finance and accounting operations.
Students will also have opportunities to network, participate in teambuilding events, and develop professional skills.
Job Description
- Position duties may include assisting with SOX, ESG and internal audit procedures, including testing of SOX and ESG key controls and assisting with operational and financial audits.
- Will conduct interviews with process owners / key stakeholders, walkthroughs, fieldwork testing, providing evidence of audit work and documentation in the form of working papers in accordance with standards
- Support the IAC team and Management in ad hoc assignments, including compliance reviews, Management interviews and other projects.
- Provide support to external auditors as needed.
- Assist in improving documentation in audit system and tracking of deficiencies and management follow up.
- Other duties may include participating in digitalization and automation initiatives.
You are meant for this job if :
- Current undergraduate or graduate university student
- 3.0 / 4.0 GPA minimum
- Previous experience in relevant field is a plus
- Possess the eligibility to work 15-20 hours / week
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without restriction. For this position we are not sponsoring or taking over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time
- Texas state resident; preferably located in Houston
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
