Responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the company's data governance framework and strategy.
Role will be pivotal in ensuring that the data policies, standards, and practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization, including IT, compliance, risk management, and business units, to establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements a comprehensive data governance strategy that supports the company's strategic objectives and ensures data quality, integrity, and security;
- Defines and enforces data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards;
- Establishes data governance frameworks and workflows to ensure effective management of data assets throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition and storage to analytical usage and archival;
- Leads efforts to assess and improve data quality, develop data quality metrics, and implement data quality improvement initiatives;
- Collaborates with IT and business teams to implement data governance tools and technologies that support data management and compliance efforts;
- Provides guidance and support to business units on data governance matters, including data privacy, access controls, and data usage policies;
- Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and makes recommendations for continuous improvement;
- Serves as a subject matter expert on data governance matters, representing the company in industry forums and working groups;
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Eight (8) or more years in data governance, data management, or related roles within the insurance or financial services industry.
SKILLS
Knowledgeable with data governance tools and technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to data management and privacy.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to build relationships across large and complex organizations.
Ability to develop and adjust policies and procedures based on risks, regulatory requirements, and business needs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
