PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
CNC Operator Machinist Job Duties :
- operate CNC machinery in plant including state of the art plasma table, steel rolls, new Haas lathe, CNC welder, tube / pipe benders
- Programs benders, plasma tables and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches;
calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Sets-up machines by installing and adjusting jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices;.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
CNC Operator Machinist Skills and Qualifications :
Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Supply Management, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail.
MUST BE CONFIDENT WITH MODERN SOFTWARE!
- Communicate with engineering department to ensure proper files (DXF) are correct for manufacture
- Program all CNC machinery to provided specifications
- Operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision components
- Maintain CNC equipment to the highest standards
