BAE Systems Minneapolis Weapon Systems Test Team is seeking a Munitions Testing Support Specialist (internally called a product support specialist).
The Munitions Testing Support Specialist works alongside engineers and other technicians supporting a broad range of programs and development projects.
This is an onsite position working a 9 / 80 schedule with every Friday off. We anticipate 10-25% travel to testing sites in Minnesota and throughout the US with a possibility of international travel.
This position has a high level of autonomy to perform assigned tasks and assignments. Products may be developmental, mature / fielded systems, and / or anything in between.
The product support specialist will work in cross-functional teams where they are likely to develop close collegial relationships built on trust and individual integrity.
An ideal candidate for this position has experience as a range safety officer, Master Gunner or range officer-in-charge experience.
Successful candidates are self-starters with strong technical experience that are willing to go above and beyond the norm when necessary to get the job done.
They are expected to meet aggressive deadlines without compromising quality or safety. The ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance is required for this position.
In this role you will :
- Support testing inside and outside of Continental United States (CONUS), specifically live fire test range operations.
- Ensure safe operation in support of small to large caliber weapon system testing.
- Apply skills to identify and solve problems that arise during testing, such as mechanical or electrical repair, involving the right stakeholders.
You will present solutions to managers and peers and decide on the best path forward.
- Support installation of instrumentation and data acquisition.
- Support a broad range of testing, recording and analyzing results.
- Run test procedures, collect data, and write up technical reports.
- Support quality and product assurance.
- Support internal, external, and customer audit activities.
- Engage with customers and key stakeholders.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically high school diploma and 8 years relevant experience or associate degree 6 years of defense-related experience in engineering, manufacturing, design, test, or field service to identify design / performance problems and lead project teams.
- Basic familiarity and experience complying with laws, regulations, and standards applicable to range, weapons systems and munition safety.
- Hands on integration, assembly, test, and checkout experience in complex systems.
- Ability to take ownership of problems / high level requirements and execute assigned tasks independently.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and effectively communicate with customers to resolve complex technical problems.
- Ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment with a careful and organized approach to tasks.
- Ability to collaborate with technical experts relating to propellant and ammunition handling and testing.
- Ability to accept field assignments and associated travel to test locations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and skilled in MS Excel, word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Army Master Gunner
- Ammunition and explosive material experience and accumulated training.
- Electrical and mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair.
- Current Secret DOD security clearance.
- Vehicle and power equipment maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge and understanding of technologies and methodologies relevant to : Weapons systems development Munitions developmentWeapons system and explosives testing Precision machine tool processing and fabricationHigh-speed video instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Shipboard equipment integration and testing.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range : $78760 - $133870
