Assistant Director for Alumni Relations, Penn State Abington

Penn State is currently seeking an Assistant Director for Alumni Relations in support of Penn State Abington, Penn State’s most diverse campus located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.

  • Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations for Penn State Abington and working closely with colleagues across Abington and Penn State, along with external volunteers, the Assistant Director for Alumni Relations is responsible for the oversight and management of the alumni relations program for Abington;
  • provides oversight and management for marketing and communications efforts, special events, and programming related to alumni relations;

and, identifies, recruits, and manages alumni volunteers to serve on boards and committees. Specific duties include :

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of all aspects of the alumni relations program
  • Identify and recruit alumni for participation in programs, alumni boards, committees, alumni speaker panels
  • Engage in marketing and communications efforts related to alumni relations / stewardship program; may include writing for print and on-line publications
  • Participate in the strategic and long-range planning for new initiatives and programs designed to enhance the alumni relations activities
  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications;
  • Recognize alumni achievement, including coordinating the nomination and selection process for Abington’s annual alumni awards event
  • Initiate, plan, and manage events which engage alumni in the life of Abington College with a focus on student success
  • Participate in the monitoring and analysis of programs; identify program needs and areas for improvement

This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position’s duties and a valid driver's license are required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check, in addition to standard background checks, is also required.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is :

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
