What we need :
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales growth strategies for SPC (Sorbent Product Company) products and solutions within the US and across multiple markets / industries.
This role is responsible for driving new revenue within targeted markets, as well as underpenetrated existing Brady customers.
Once new business is secured, the person in this role is responsible for executing a long-term strategy with the appropriate Brady Territory and Channel Managers to provide ongoing day-to-day sales support and future account penetration.
This role has geographic responsibility for the US.
What you'll be doing :
- Define and implement strategies to identify new revenue-driving opportunities for SPC products and solutions.
- Provide thought leadership and aggressive management to the Business Development sales team with a focus on strategic growth initiatives (technology applications, new products, markets, partnership opportunities).
- Collaborate with other regions on global customer opportunities.
- Coordinate with Brady channel partners across all divisions as needed to execute sales strategies and to support won business.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts.
- Implement process for capturing and storing key data points from targeted end-users.
- Execute territory-level sales strategies to provide long-term account maintenance and nurturing at targeted end-users.
- Drive diversification of end-user and industry mix in all territories and regions.
- Provide tactical field sales support to targeted end-users, including product demonstrations, specification / engineering meetings, first run support, etc.
- Build out prospecting plan with measurable metrics and achievable milestones to gain access to decision makers at target accounts
- Create effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders - Product Management, Territory Sales Managers, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Digital and Pricing teams to achieve goals.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key industry associations, groups and individuals; and attend industry events, trade-shows, conferences, etc.

Develop and prepare subordinates for future growth and advancement opportunities through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
What you'll need to be successful :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 10 years experience selling to high-level corporate contacts (engineering, R&D, spec owners, product management, director or above)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in new business development role with proven success at prospecting into high-value target accounts
- Prior experience with analyzing customer data and developing targeted customer lists
- Entrepreneur's attitude and mindset
- Experience in change management
- Experience in technical sales
- Able to make effective decisions that produce desired results based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.
- Able to set clear objectives and measures / monitors progress and results.
- Project management experience
- Experience in contract negotiation
- Experience using CRM tools
- Previous leadership experience managing a technical sales team in a business to business environment
