Position Summary

Sony AI is seeking highly motivated, self-driven interns with expertise in robotics to join and contribute to our robotic flagship project in gastronomy.

During the internship, the successful candidate will work with our mentors closely to research, design, and deploy robotic systems, including but not limited to control, sensing, and / or deployment aspects of the robotic systems.

The vast scope of the Gastronomy project provides you with a lot of creative flexibility to explore things and learn.

Roles and Responsibilities

Help in research, design, and deploy solutions to robotic systems. Write reports and give presentations for internal audiences

Work closely with a team of AI researchers and programmers on ambitious demonstration projects

Work in the integration platform team that brings the entire system to life

Develop everything from CI pipelines to core components of the robot stack

Required Qualifications

Pursuing Masters, or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Robotics or related areas.

Knowledge and desire to write clean well tested code

Excellent programming skill in Python or C++

Excellent communication skills in English

Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration

Extra Qualifications

Experience with robots

Experience with any robotics platform (ROS, etc)

Duration

The internship duration is 3-6 months

Working Location Tokyo (Onsite) or Boston (Hybrid)

The target hourly rate for this internship is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
