Senior Corporate Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements. This position records all balance sheet and income statement activity on a monthly basis, using both Cash and GAAP accounting.

After completing training, this position transitions to a hybrid work schedule.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.
• Prepares accurate financial statements and workpapers according to close schedule.
• Researches and analyzes financial activity and summarizes financial status.
• Records acquisition and disbursement activity for new and older assets.
• Reviews and understands general ledger activities.
• Works with other departments (including AP, Operations, and Asset Management) to resolve discrepancies; recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Assists auditors with the year-end audit.
• Assists and leads special accounting projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education :

Education :

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university.

Experience :

This position requires 7-10 years of prior professional accounting experience, preferably in a real estate environment.

Certifications / Licenses :

The following certification is preferred for this position : Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.).

Skills :

• Keyboarding skills are required for this position.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook are required for this position.
• Intermediate skills in Yardi (or comparable general ledger software program) are required for this position.
• Ten Key skills are required for this position.
