What you will be performing
As the Safety Program Lead and Trainer at Compass Health, your role is multifaceted and critical to further perpetuating a culture of Safety here at Compass Health.
You'll be instrumental delivering top-notch training tailored to specific audiences, aligning with Compass Health's education and training objectives.
Your position holds considerable visibility, impacting both internal and external stakeholders. It requires maintaining a positive, engaging approach and upholding a professional demeanor throughout.
You'll take on a significant role in participating in the workplace safety program within the organization. Your expertise in administration and workplace compliance is essential, showcasing a focus on workplace safety, and overall wellness.
Collaboration with stakeholders will be key to implementing and overseeing safety programs and policies, ensuring a secure and supportive work environment for all workforce members.
This role will be dotted-lined to the Learning, Training, and Development (LTD) Program Manager in support of Compass Health's strategy for continuous learning and development for our workforce members.
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs aligned with Compass Health's mission and values.
- Conduct regular safety assessments, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA requirements.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, including mental health awareness as part of new hire orientation and ongoing sessions.
- Provide education and resources to employees on mental health awareness and support.
- Coordinate or participate in community outreach activities supporting safety and wellness for our workforce members.
- Support investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, or injuries.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Partner with Safety Captains to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Track drills and training exercises to ensure employee preparedness for emergencies.
- Collaborate with teams to address employee concerns related to workplace safety and well-being.
- Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
What you will be carrying along
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Communications, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in training presentation and curriculum development, both internal and external.
- Comfortable presenting to diverse groups, ranging from intimate to larger settings (up to 50 individuals).
- HR background with a focus on safety and wellbeing, preferably in healthcare or mental health.
- Proficient in safety regulations, including a strong grasp of OSHA requirements.
- Certification in safety (e.g., CSP) and familiarity with mental health support resources are advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Washington State Driver's License, with vehicle and appropriate insurance if required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating positive interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
