About the Role
Our client, a reputable materials company, is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to support safe, efficient mine operations and develop strategic mine plans across their growing network of sites in Texas.
This position is ideal for an experienced professional in mine planning with a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will work closely with multiple departments to optimize mine productivity, support permitting compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and maintain 3-D mine plans utilizing geologic mapping, drill data, topography, and other planning data.
- Manage updated life-of-mine site plans, aerial photos, and topographic maps.
- Monitor and advise on mine development, generating short- and long-term plans.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance and manage environmental impacts.
- Prepare estimates for stripping volumes, support bid processes, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support special projects related to zoning, land acquisitions, and site-specific challenges.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aggregate materials industry.
- Knowledge of mining engineering, geology, and relevant regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and mining software (AutoCAD, MineSight, ESRI GIS).
- Strong communication skills with a process-improvement mindset.
- P.E. registration in Texas or EIT status with plans to obtain P.E. within 5 years preferred.
- Ability to travel to multiple site locations as needed.
