As Chief Executive Officer, dnata USA you will be based in our Orlando, Florida Corporate office reporting directly to the Regional Chief Executive Officer.
You will be responsible for overseeing dnata's USA portfolio and manage entities that include ground handling, logistics and cargo businesses.
Your primary focus will be to deliver safe, secure and customer-focused services while ensuring implementation of strategic plans to grow the USA portfolio and maximise the long-term profit and performance of these international handling businesses, while being the most admired in every market we serve.
You will drive One dnata initiatives and strategies from conceptualisation and prioritisation through to implementation.
In this role, you will :
- Work closely with the Regional Chief Executive Officer (RCEO) and Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP), Airport Operations to maximise financial performance of each business in line with dnata international airport operations strategy.
- Over a 2-to-3-year period, plan, oversee and integrate the various diverse functions within the business to ensure alignment and achievement of strategic objectives.
- Create an effective regional structure which creates synergies between the different areas of the country.
- Ensure the workforce plan is sufficient to meet operational delivery needs and the operating model is optimal to the operation.
- Develop and oversee implementation of business policies, procedures, and controls to ensure procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
Represent the businesses in all matters involving operations, clients, authorities, legal authorities and update the Board on all key matters.
Develop and present annual budgets (consolidated profit and loss statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement) and expectations on investments, staff, and productivity of each business.
Work with the RCEO to make decisions on commercial contracts related to the capital expenditure, appointment and major operational decisions, pay recommendations and budgeting.
- Drive change through continuous improvement, keeping abreast of industry best practices. Work closely with the Regional Directors / Vice Presidents to strategize for new solutions, operating standards and services which align to business needs.
- Ensure ground and cargo handling activities are conducted in compliance with all government-mandated security procedures and industry standards in the region.
- Ensure all business decisions are made based on authority level limits and after the required due diligence and risk analysis has been carried out.
- Lead with safety as a priority, ensuring all decisions are made with safety in mind. Implement the new safety management system / Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with existing clients, new clients and external stakeholders to seek new business opportunities and grow international business networks.
- Set clear and measurable objectives for direct reports at a function or department level on an annual basis in line dnata framework and process.
- Partner with HR to set effective Talent Management, Succession Planning and Reward & Recognition initiatives that drive a high-performance culture (in line with 'The dnata way’)
- Drive the dnata Vision, Mission and Values within the business and model the behaviours and intent of the VMV’s in all people leadership practices.
- Develop the culture and lead the business in a way that improves engagement within the team / s.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in related field and 12+ years of experience in airport operations with an international airline or ground handling agent, including at least 6 years in a managerial role
- Experience in USA Laws and Regulations
- Experience in Aviation Insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance, Health Care, Employment law and Directors and Officers Insurance.
- Outstanding knowledge of all aspects of airport handling operations, as well as strong business acumen to oversee all aspects of each business in the region
- Excellent M&A capability
- Advanced Budget and Cost Control Knowledge
- Well-developed leadership, communication and negotiation abilities
