Job Summary : The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations related to our Roman-style square pizzas, artisanal gelato, pastries, and the full service bar.
This includes menu development, ingredient selection, and maintaining food quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a creative and experienced chef with a deep understanding of Italian cuisine, particularly Roman-style pizza, and a passion for leading and inspiring a team.
Key Responsibilities : Menu Development : Design and develop innovative and authentic menu items that reflect the pizzeria’s Italian roots and incorporate seasonal ingredients.
Pizza Preparation and Cooking : Masterfully prepare Roman-style square pizzas, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
Gelato and Pastry Oversight : Collaborate with the team to produce high-quality gelati and pastries, ensuring they meet the standards of Italian tradition.
Quality Control : Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. Perform regular tastings to ensure all offerings meet the pizzeria’s high standards.
Ingredient Management : Source and select the best ingredients, working with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Team Leadership : Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss improvement areas and innovation ideas.
Inventory and Budget Management : Oversee inventory levels, reduce waste, and manage purchasing within budget constraints.
Health and Safety Compliance : Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Customer Engagement : Occasionally interact with customers to gather feedback and improve menu offerings. Qualifications : Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in an Italian pizzeria or similar culinary environment.
In-depth knowledge of Roman-style square pizza, gelato, and pastry preparation and cooking techniques. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Understanding of budgeting and inventory management. Passion for Italian cuisine and a commitment to culinary excellence.
