Software Engineer (.NET)

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team being led by one of the top technology consulting firms in the world to design, develop and implement multiple highly visible, cloud native applications.

This role will focus on developing greenfield applications as part of a critical state-wide government healthcare initiative to provide comprehensive mental health services.

This role will serve a critical function in developing the applications to drive this initiative forward using a cloud native approach in .

NET Core. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in .NET Core, containerization and cloud native application design.

Additional responsibilities include :

Develop scalable, robust, and maintainable web applications that utilize .NET Core and related technologies.

Leverage tools like Docker to containerize applications that can be efficiently orchestrated in EKS for deployment in AWS

Focus primarily on application and data microservice layers, with potential presentation layer development using C# / JavaScript in the future depending on roadmap outcomes

Work closely with the architect and development team to contribute at every stage of the software product lifecycle. , architectural design patterns, engineering workflows, libraries and packages, etc.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and customer stakeholders, including product managers, platform / devops engineers and other developers.

Participate in sprint planning, story mapping, code reviews and stand up meetings

Leverage open-source technologies and communities, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web development.

Travel to Sacramento for onsite meetings with customer and delivery teams. 10-15% Travel during the first 6-9 months of the project, will then ramp back to 5% after that.

Salary Target : $118,400 - $141,550 annualized

Required Skills & Experience

4-8 years of experience in software engineering / development

2+ years of experience developing in Microsoft .Net Core

1+ years of experience with Docker

Experience building cloud-native applications

2+ years of experience with open source RDMBS technologies (, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and designing efficient data models

Advanced familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies

Understanding of security best practices and implementing measures to protect web applications from potential vulnerabilities

Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Hands on experience with Blazor Framework

Understanding of CI / CD pipelines from a developer perspective

Experience building .NET Core applications in EKS / AWS is a big plus
