Position description
The School of Engineering anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following courses in Computer Science & Engineering for Academic Year 2024-2025 :
- CSE 005 Introduction to Computer Applications
- CSE 015 Discrete Mathematics
- CSE 019 Introduction to Computing
- CSE 022 Introduction to Programming
- CSE 024 Advanced Programming
- CSE 031 Computer Organization
- CSE 100 Algorithm Design and Analysis
- CSE 108 Full Stack Web Development
- CSE 165 Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming
- CSE 170 Computer Graphics
- CSE 171 Game Programming

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding regular posted office hours (minimum 2 hours / week), and evaluating student work and exams, and calculating and posting grades.
The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant, reader, or remedial tutor.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers.

Appointments for AY 2024 / 2025 and / or Fall 2024 semester are reviewed in April, and for Spring 2025 semester are reviewed in October.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
Advanced degree in Computer Science & Engineering or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level are required.
Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
