Weekend Package Shift Differential available from 7am Friday - 7am Monday.*

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position receives general direction of the Radiologist and supervision from Imaging Services Supervisor. The MRI Technologist performs a variety of radiologic procedures including routine and special MR1 procedures within the limits of standard procedures of the Imaging Services Department.

Position may have on-call responsibilities on evening / night / weekend and / or holiday shifts.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigates and resolves patient complaints within the unit.
• Positions, handles and performs MRI and radiologic procedures of patients prof orders and or Radiologist.
• Performs general and special MRI procedures as requested.
• Assists with the quality assessment / improvement plan for department with attention to MRI services.
• Identifies and resolves problems related to equipment, patients, supplies and billing procedures.
• Performs clerical and support tasks including patient transporting and exam scheduling.
• Prepares and maintains routine department records and reports; and special and periodic reports and / or analysis.
• Works with Team Leader to coordinate Performance Improvement projects and data collection for MRI area.
• Assists supervisor(s) with budgetary reviews related to MRI needs.
• Monitors MRI processes and activities for quality of procedures and performance Of staff.
• Maintains exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in Order to effectively interact with all individuals.
• Maintains a professional appearance and approach.
• Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Certification by the A.R.R.T.
• Valid Iowa permit to practice.
• One (l ) year MRI experience or ARRT certified in radiology with at least one year of cross training at Broadlawns Medical Center.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills Experience with computer applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Two (2) years previous experience as MRI Technologist in a hospital environment.
• Bilingual.
