Position Details
Assignment :
The Service Monitor is an employee of Edustaff and monitors students and provides in-person assistance in the classroom or learning environments for students accessing online therapy and specialized instruction sessions.
Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position) :
- Responsible for escorting students from their assigned classrooms to designated online access location and back to classrooms.
- Assist students with logging into virtual platforms.
- Troubleshoot login difficulties.
- Document participation in online sessions. Mark attendance at online therapy / instruction sessions.
- Commit to distraction-free monitoring of students as they participate in therapy / instruction sessions (e.g., refrain from personal conversations, cell-phone use, interruption of instructional staff, or other behaviors which could distract the student from their session).
- Provide appropriate encouragement to students as needed to engage students in online sessions.
- Report violations of the Student Code of Conduct to school administration.
- Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire, personal grooming, and an effective work ethic.
- Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend all required meetings.
- Display ethical behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated withthe school.
- Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties.
- Adhere to Michigan school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and regulations, and school regulations and procedures.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the building Principal or LSS Supervisor.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED required.
Experience :
Some experience working with children and adolescents, such as working in a structured daycare, pre-school, tutoring, etc. is preferred.
Skills :
- Ability to exhibit patient behavior and to work effectively with children, young adults, and staff members.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to perform required tasks.
- Ability to read / write / speak English.
- Good listening and speaking skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions.
- Competency in, and ability to assist students with using computer programs.
Work Year, Hours & Compensation :
$15.00 / per hour, days per year, 15-30 hours / week, no benefits.
