Summary :

Acts as a lead resource person to provide guidance andaccountability for the Admitting department which encompassesregistration, insurance verification pre-certification andcashiering.

Offers suggestions to optimize staff performancethrough process redesign, policy / procedure implementation,communications and outcome feedback.

Serves as a liaison betweenthe Admitting Department and other Departments.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) isa 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio.

Specialized care includes orthopedic and surgical services, ICU,women’s services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascularcare from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleepcenter, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute,wound care, rehabilitation, and more.

The campus also boasts anOutpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of whichhouses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Programand CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.

Requirements : Education / Skills

Education / Skills

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’sdegree is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of three years of Patient Admittingand Registration experience or its equivalent isrequired.

Skills

  • Maintains current knowledge of registrationprocesses and systems, regulation and third party payer issues, andautomated systems through literature review andin-service.
  • Demonstrates the ability tointerpret customer requirements and recommends procedures forcompliance with regulations and standards.
  • Displays on-going leadership in promoting positive attitudes andensuring exceptional customer service. Serves as a coach, mentor,team builder and facilitator.
  • Demonstrates theability to communicate and work with physicians, physician officepersonnel, associates and others in order to expedite theregistration process to avoid negative patientservice.
  • Displays creativity in making processrecommendations and to implement such change.
  • Is self-directed, global thinker with the ability to work withgroups as well as independently.
  • Demonstratesthe ability to handle a high degree of pressure, heavy workloads,multiple requests, numerous interruptions, and short deadlines in apositive manner.
  • Functional to intermediateskill level in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, andPower Point.

Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications

Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)through National Association of Healthcare Management (NAHAM)required.
