Overview :
Following established procedures and under general direction of the AVP, Financial Planning & Analysis, performs detailed finance assignments requiring advanced knowledge of economic / finance theory and accounting principles.
Main responsibilities include management reporting, ALM / interest rate risk analysis, investment reporting, credit risk analysis, peer group reporting, cost center budget variance report, and branch / product profitability analysis.
Procedure documentation will also be required.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare monthly financial reports and analyses for management and the Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO).
- Maintain the monthly update of the ALM system, which is used for projection and budget modeling. Perform interest rate risk measurement and financial modeling.
- Generate monthly cost center management reports, including budget variance analysis comparing plan to prior year outcomes to develop rolling forecasts.
Assist management with budget development, including creation of budget templates, compiling budget data, and generating a comparative summary.
- Maintain and prepare loan management reporting including quarterly credit risk analysis, static / vintage pool analysis, and due diligence analysis.
- Develop financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Prepare customized management reports and dashboards in support of the credit union’s initiatives or programs. Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports.
- Assimilate economic and industry information for interest rate risk measurement and profitability analysis.
- Assist with development, maintenance and quality control of product cost and profitability information in conjunction with all other related efforts to measure cost and profitability.
Work closely with management to design, implement and develop branch and product profitability analyses.
- Compile and generate peer group financial analysis and reporting quarterly.
- Maintain working knowledge of the software programs utilized by the credit union to generate, validate, reconcile, and archive financial data and records.
- Work closely with management to continually improve reporting processes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Support the team with day-to-day operations and month-end reporting. Assist personnel with problem resolution and train other staff members as assigned.
- Maintain and update procedure documentation for all functions performed.
- Keep up-to-date on all applicable regulatory requirements to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ensure the credit union operates safely, soundly, and within policy limits.
- Follow record retention guidelines as published by regulatory agencies and federal and state record retention laws.
- Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy.
These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and / or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.
- Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member / Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent from a four-year college in Finance and a minimum of 5 years related experience performing financial analysis is required;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Credit union or financial institution experience preferred. Strong analytical skills;
this includes the ability to create financial models and financial forecasts. Intermediate experience in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
Preferred experience in SQL Server and Power BI.
TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY
To perform this job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills and demonstrated expertise. Strong spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation software skills are required.
Ability to learn new applications quickly and general knowledge of network and database usage is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certificate, or other related professional certification, is preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job, the employee must possess strong interpersonal skills, good phone and e-mail etiquette, a professional presentation, and a high degree of personal initiative.
Interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, motivating and influencing others, maintaining a significant level of trust and diplomacy, fostering internal and external business relationships.
This position requires the employee to work during regular business hours and occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet established department deadlines.
