Maintenance Technician

Overview : The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment in a food and beverage production facility.

This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Primary Duties :

• Perform Maintenance : Execute routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, and processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot Issues : Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and PLC problems.
• Repair Equipment : Replace or fix defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Document Work : Maintain precise maintenance records and logs.
• Ensure Compliance : Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate : Work with production and quality control teams to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.
• Inspect Equipment : Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to detect potential issues.
• Install Equipment : Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Improve Processes : Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications :

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Experience : 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
• Skills : Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

Attributes : Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Flexibility : Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements :

• Strength : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfort : Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Dexterity : Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
