Title : Substance Abuse Counselor (SUDP / SUDPT)

Location : 3955 156th Street NE, Marysville, WA 98271

Position Description :

The Substance Use Disorder Professional is responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards of care and for adult and / or adolescent patients under circumstances of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.

Education : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or related field preferred; Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience : Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse,

Requirements :

  • Must have Washington State Department of Health Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee License (SUDP / SUDPT)
  • Completion of substance use disorder coursework; BA preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of counseling experience working with persons with substance use disorder preferably co-occurring.
  • Strong and clear sense of boundaries, awareness of personal triggers, education and direct experience with treating substance use disorders in an inpatient setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Clear clinical treatment approach and understanding of ASAM criteria, and common mental health diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate psychoeducational substance use dependency groups.
  • Clinical documentation including : ASAM assessments, SUD screening and consultation.
  • Consult as needed with the treatment team, psychiatrist, ARNP, or mental health clinician on ongoing cases, for screenings, and treatment planning.

License : Must possess substance abuse license / certificate as dictated by the State of Washington or equivalent.
