Budgeted Pay Scale : $78,800 - $90,000 Annually

Full Salary Range : USD $78,800.00 / Yr. - USD $175,000.00 / Yr.

Position Summary

Expand your fundraising skills as the Associate Director, Foundation Relations and Corporate Philanthropy (FRCP) within our UCLA Development team.

In addition to the valuable support provided by individual donors, fundraising through corporations and foundations also plays a vital role in moving forward UCLA's mission and goals.

As a strong member of our team, you will be part of the frontline fundraising core of our FRCP Office. Using your ability to articulate academic content and values of UCLA's programs to sophisticated organizations, you will manage and grow a portfolio of new, particularly corporate prospects with potential to support a wide variety of our programs, students, research and other needs.

You will liaise with funding organizations, establish and maintain effective, high-level engagement with funders and work with colleagues to secure gifts and grants.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in grant writing, industry relations or similar role in a university, research institution or other organization of equivalent complexity with ability to secure gifts and grants for various programs. (Required)
  • Experience with the grant / proposal writing process. (Required)
  • Experience with Blackbaud CRM or equivalent development database and the use of databases to generate reports. (Preferred)
  • Experience conceptualizing, planning and implementing special events. (Preferred)
  • Understanding of philanthropic principles, values and practices and knowledge of terms and resources specific to foundation and organizational fundraising. (Required)
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement corporate and foundation identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies. (Required)
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write and edit proposals, case statements, letters of inquiry, reports and related business correspondence;

ability to prepare other clear and compelling cultivation and solicitation materials. (Required)

  • Strong oral communication skills to collect and convey information with accuracy, diplomacy and tact; ability to persuasively express the mission of the University and the fundraising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to FRCP goals and objectives. (Required)
  • Detail oriented with ability to take initiative, work equally well independently and as part of a team, accept responsibility;

adept at setting priorities and managing work flow to fulfill objectives and meet goals according to deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. (Required)

  • Ability to run, analyze and summarize computer-generated reports; analyze data effectively to evaluate progress; recognize areas of weakness and recommend strategies that achieve stated objectives. (Required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor files and other information; impeccable integrity and discretion in dealing with funders, other donors, alumni, students, administrators and colleagues. (Required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications as well as familiarity with other database, spreadsheet, scheduling and email applications;

willingness to learn new programs and applications in a prompt and efficient manner. (Required)

  • Ability to work some evenings and / or weekends as needed. (Required)
