Job Summary :
Perform exemplary maintenance services on heavy equipment to ensure owning and operating costs exceed customer standards.
Use Holt Cat’s digital tools to capture and report issues as they pertain to the operation and performance of the equipment to maximize uptime.
Lastly, the incumbent must successfully work with Holt’s central dispatch team for logistics and communicate directly with customers to confirm job requirements, location, and timeline.
This is an entry-level position that generally has less than one year of experience and / or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge / skills.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision.
Will provide superior customer service to internal and external customers in alignment with Holt CAT’s Vision, Values, and Mission statement.
Essential Functions :
- Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Performs high-quality preventative field maintenance work and electronic inspections on heavy equipment
- Effectively maintains and communicates a field service schedule to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Desires to challenge self with an abundance mindset to achieve the highest levels of performance and quality
- Adaptable and understanding of changes to schedules and timelines
- Accurately obtains, packages, and submits required compartment fluid samples daily
- Maintains appearance and operation of service truck to ensure productivity and professional representation to Holt customers
- Work Order Efficiency- 5% or higher for the reviewed time period
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

- Demonstrated proficiency with current computer software and related hardware
- Some knowledge of construction equipment and related equipment
- Ability to read and understand equipment service manuals and lubrication charts
- Basic knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and practices
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Up to one year of experience with field or shop preventive maintenance of heavy equipment such as dozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and excavators preferred
- A valid driver's license with a safe driving record required
- Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months of employment
Travel :
Up to 20% of overnight travel
