High Point University Health, LLC and affiliated Oral Health Network is a non-for-profit oral health system that is part of the Workman School of Dental Medicine (WSDM), with a mission of putting those who need our care at the center of everything we do.
The Director of Clinical Operations is a full-time, 12-month, administrative staff appointment with duties in the High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine (WSDM) and HPU Health.
The Director of Clinical Operations is instrumental in strategizing, managing, and implementing processes and workflows across practice sites in the Oral Health Network (OHN).
This position works closely with High Point University School of Dental Medicine leadership team to successfully operate and deliver health care services, to attain high-quality outcomes consistent with organizational standards.
Efforts of this role are focused on ensuring efficient operations, accountability, financial stewardship, sustainability, regulatory compliance, standards of accreditation (CODA / OHSA / HIPAA / CDC / FERPA), and expansive development.
QUALIFICATIONS : Education
Education
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline required
Experience and Training
5+ years of experience in multisite operational leadership, corporate experience preferred
Significant knowledge of standards, regulations, and policies in health care
Previous work in a health care facility or clinical setting preferred
Strong knowledge of health data, analytics, and business management are preferred
Experience collaborating with vendors, institutions, and health entities are preferred

Robust verbal and written communication skills
Experience with EPIC (electronic health record) is preferred. Proficiency with other practice management software (Dentrix / Eaglesoft).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
The candidate selected for this position will perform all duties directed by the Associate Dean of Clinical Operations. The candidate will be expected to perform the following duties, including but not limited to :
Operations Management :
Provides operational oversight and management of assigned practice sites including procedural operations, fiscal stewardship, effective communication, and process improvement initiatives.
Identifies, secures, and manages resources to enhance productivity and remove barriers to efficient workflows and patient access to care.
Implements strategies to increase revenue / decrease costs and cost-effectively manage personnel, supply, and equipment resources across practice sites.
Responsible for collecting, evaluating, and presenting operational data and performance analytics to HPU WSDM executive leadership.
Quality and Service :
Ensures contractual, regulatory, and accreditation compliance of all assignedpractice sites. Initiates, implements and monitors evidence-based practices consonant with organizations such as Joint Commission (TJC), Division of Health Services Regulation (DHSR), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Conducts, communicates, and documents regularly recurring meetings at practice sites with pertinent information such as policy and procedure changes.
Strategic Leadership :
Develops, plans and implements strategies to manage growth and ensure institutional sustainability. Regularly reviews and recommends changes in operations to meetpatient needs with particular emphasis on services for underserved populations.
Exceedsorganizational goals and resolves issues by troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and follow-up. Fosters a culture of patient-centered services with exceptional standards of care.
Identifies new opportunities and builds the organization by consistently developing and improving services.
Network Development :
Aggregates resources and collaborates with other academic institutions,medical entities, and hospital facilities to promote the services, model, and values of HPU SDMOH.
Works in close liaison developing and maintaining professional partnerships. Builds and promotes the institution by fostering professional relationships built on intentionality and transparency.
Serves as representation of HPU WSDM and HPU Health (Oral Health Network) and actively seeks opportunities for practice network expansion.
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Chief Dental Officer (CDO) / Associate Dean of Clinical Operations
Evaluation : Ongoing performance reviewswill be conducted along with an annual assessment by the CDO and includes input from the faculty and students.
