Position Description :
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisville is recruiting a Research Resource Specialist for their Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) facility.
The position is a full-time regular staff position based in the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, service and supervision of the Department's Varian / Agilent 400, 500, and 700 MHz NMR instruments and Bruker EMXplus EPR spectrometer with variable temperature to 100 K.
The specialist will be responsible for training and assisting post-doctoral, graduate and undergraduate student users, scheduling and billing instrument use and assisting faculty in NMR and EPR instruction in the undergraduate organic chemistry laboratories.
Additional expectations will include participating in collaborative research efforts with faculty, assisting in grant proposal and manuscript preparation and working with local industry.
There may also be opportunities for teaching if desired. Prior experience with routine maintenance of NMR and EPR instruments, troubleshooting hardware, Linux computer administration and networking is expected.
The successful applicant will find excellent opportunities for interactions and collaborations with scientists and professionals with an interest in the NMR and EPR facilities, including high field instruments, across both campuses of the University of Louisville.

Preferred Qualifications :
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or related area
- experience in NMR and EPR methodology and techniques
- A year of postdoctoral experience in NMR and EPR spectroscopy is highly desirable

Target Compensation Maximum :
$98,100.00
Target Compensation Minimum :
$65,400.00
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
