The Opportunity :
The Manager, Academic Program position manages projects and activities in support of the iSTEM educational and research efforts which include the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation specifically related to STEM Engagement and student programs.
Position is responsible for the monitoring of all assigned programs to ensure that University, grant and donor requirements are met while preparing periodic reports to assess the health and effectiveness of programs.
This is a visiting and renewable position. Visiting positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available.
Position will be renewable up to a period of four years.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Responsibilities :
Manages iSTEM Undergraduate Mentoring programs, including new and existing (GEMS, WiSTEM, and WISE). Responsibilities include but are not limited to the recruitment, selection and training of mentors, coordination of placement, supervision of student leads, coordinating related events and preparation of year-end evaluation and reporting.
Manages STEM Engagement initiatives within the UCF community for under-served STEM populations, K-12 students, and UCF student groups.
Tasks include but are not limited to creation and implementation of new programs or events, collection of data and reporting.
Individual will monitor communication / social media platforms, respond to inquiries, maintain application systems, prepare recruitment materials and ensure University requirements are met by all programs, staff and volunteers.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, assists in the coordination and implementation of iSTEM connected grants. This includes coordination with involved faculty members, collection and reporting of the appropriate assessment measures.
Performs collection and data mining of information on students, university community or any external area and reports as necessary for the grant.
Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of year-round student mentors and seasonal camp counselors.
This includes coordination and communication with staff hiring for the similar programs, iSTEM Administrative Assistant, and the UCF Human Resources Department.
Advises students, faculty, and staff members about UCF policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
In conjunction with the Executive Director is responsible for liaison and communication activities with the University Community, students, parents, faculty and staff in the recommendation and communication of policies and procedures while maintaining FERPA and University rules and regulations of student privacy.
Serves as the departmental representative at engagement events, connecting students, faculty, and professionals as necessary.
Oversight of the technical support services necessary to administer department projects. This includes working with the appropriate college staff on social media and web content management of the program sites and troubleshooting and accuracy of online databases used for tracking.
Assists in other duties as assigned by the iSTEM Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla.

Preferred Qualifications :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., MS Word and Excel) and desktop agent software (e.g., MS TEAMS).
Ability to work under pressure of deadlines, goals, and / or time limitations.
Ability to use independent judgment and decision-making skills when assisting students and staff members.
Ability to work well with others and as a team.
Ability to perform duties with a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to professional ethical standards.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skill, multi-tasking skills, and high level of attention to detail.
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment.
