General Description :
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Call Center, the Field Services Representative serves as a bridge between the Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund and its active and retired members.
The Field Services Representative is responsible for giving members accurate, timely, and complete information regarding CTPF pension benefits.
Job Requirements :
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with pension representatives and school personnel to schedule presentations for teachers and administrators. Develop a plan to reach all Chicago Public Schools and Charter Schools.
- Provide individual counseling to members in regards to retirement, refunds, pension estimates, optional services, separation from work, disability, health insurance, and death claims.
- Develop workshops on specific topics relevant to the pension fund.
- Assist Member Services Unit in serving members who contact personnel by phone or appointment.
- Conduct seminars for retiring members.
- Research member issues and provide resolution. Escalate inquiries as appropriate to managers or subject matter experts.
Position Qualifications
- Ability to analyze and actively listen to members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of technology and software related to pension plan.
Education and Experience
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree and call center experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting and moving up to ten pounds occasionally.
- Sitting for long periods of time; some standing and repetitive physical activity.
Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, consisting of regular conversation, business machines (copies, printers, etc.), and telephones.
