Job Summary : JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY

Performs skilled work to ensure safe, effective, and energy efficient operation of Medical Center Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems through the Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Responsible for testing, maintenance, modification, operation, repair and record keeping of BAS. Utilizes knowledge of (a) pneumatic, electric, electronic, direct digital, airflow, hydronic, etc.

control strategies, (b) hardware devices such as thermostats, humidistats, receiver controllers, pneumatic actuators, safeties, pilot positioners, relays, sensors, field panels, wiring, power supplies, interface modules, etc.

and (c) system operating manuals and engineering drawings associated with the HVAC systems and equipment within the scope of services provided by the HAR Shop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to Medical Center and Department policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates a special skill set, qualification and expertise with respect to Building Automation Systems and is responsible for BAS operation and control of building HVAC systems and equipment included in the HAR Shop scope of services
  • Mentor other team members, share knowledge base to improve overall work group
  • Follow instructions, work under supervision and independently, demonstrate an eagerness to learn and expand knowledge base and skill set
  • Employ safe work practices
