Creighton Community Foundation is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, bilingual (Spanish / English) Community Health Workers (or those interested in becoming a CHW!) to support our nutrition-focused health campaign aimed at engaging our community in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to improve awareness and engagement in healthy food access and to cultivate a local identity rooted in collaborative community health strategies.

Position is Part-time (16 hours a week minimum) to start internships with Full-Time Apprenticeships available. Must be personable and friendly, able to interview people professionally in both Spanish and English.

Basic computer skills are a must. Perfect job for College Student, especially in Social Work, Nutrition, and Non-profit programs.

What you'll do :

  • Receive all necessary training and certification for enrollment assistance
  • Conduct community outreach to improve awareness and engagement in SNAP
  • Provide regular application / enrollment assistance to vulnerable community members, preserving confidentiality and dignity, and while using online application tools (must be comfortable working with a computer)
  • Regularly meet with the Foundation staff team and provide reports on SNAP application appointments, example applicant stories (maintaining confidentiality) and track progress of SNAP applications with client follow up, while encouraging clients to participate in other Creighton Community Foundation nutritional health programs.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule that include weekdays and Saturdays

Work Location : Multiple Locations around 16th-40th Streets and Indian School to Van Buren area.
