PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a coach to teachers implementing the AVID program in elementary and secondary classrooms.
- Work Collaboratively with teachers to implement AVID and WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization and Reading) strategies.
- Teach demonstration AVID and WICOR lessons.
- Provide professional development for teachers in AVID strategies.
- Coach staff to plan and deliver effective AVID instruction.
- Facilitate professional learning community meetings devoted to the AVID program.
- Gather and provide resources for teachers in the AVID program.
- Help teachers assess student strengths and needs through classroom observatiojn, interpretation of data and evaluation of student work.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with teachers that allow for the exchange3 of honest feedback and professional growth.
- Attend AVID Summer Institutes, district director meetings, county workshops and other AVID trainings.
- Attend AVID site team meeting and facilitate AVID district meetings and trainings.
- Provide sites with guidance and support for AVID Certification, including organizing evidence through digital portfolios.
- Coordinate parent involvement activities related to the AVID Program.
- Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including vertical articulation.
- Coordinate AVID activities, celebrations and recognitions.
- Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to same.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary Range : Teacher Salary Schedule. (Placement depends upon education and experience.)
Length of Contract : 215 days per year
EVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
