Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NOC (Network Operations Center) Manager to join our team at a prominent MSP based in Charlotte, NC.

This role offers the flexibility of mostly remote work, with occasional on-site visits. As the NOC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NOC, ensuring the highest level of network performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Management :

Lead and manage a team of NOC engineers and technicians.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve NOC operations and performance.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to NOC staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage staff schedules.
  • Network Monitoring and Incident Management :

Oversee the monitoring of network systems and infrastructure.

  • Ensure prompt detection, diagnosis, and resolution of network issues and incidents.
  • Develop and enforce incident response protocols and escalation procedures.
  • Coordinate with other departments and clients to address and resolve network-related issues.
  • Service Delivery and Performance Management :

Ensure compliance with SLAs and performance metrics.

  • Develop and maintain NOC documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement and manage network monitoring tools and systems.
  • Generate and analyze reports on network performance and incident trends.
  • Continuous Improvement :

Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement network upgrades and enhancements.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance network security and reliability.

Qualifications :

  • Education and Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Experience with incident management and ITIL processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
